Wearing Our Stories: Stitching Identity Through Football
Coinciding with the Football World Cup, I collaborated with the Migration Museum to lead a participatory workshop exploring football, migration, race, and belonging. Drawing on my practice engaging football culture, fashion, ESEA identity, and protest, Chui guided participants in stitching onto football shirts – weaving in the personal journeys of migration. Whilst stitching, we held an open conversation about national identity, and what it meant to feel at home on and off the pitch. Participants took their shirts home and wore them to the finals!
