Commissioned by Virtue (Vice’s creative agency) for ESEA Heritage Month, this artwork explores the ubiquitous question: “Where are you really from?”

As an Asian woman navigating life in a Western country, the experience of being "othered" has made the examination of my own identity a constant, lived reality. This piece is an outward reflection of those inner complexities. Building on a personal project, I collaborated with dancer Lois Wong, whose shared Chinese heritage helped ground the visual narrative in our collective experience.
